Account & subscription

Check your subscription status in the dashboard before changing your client configuration. For the full setup walkthrough, see the getting started guide.

Do I need an email address to create an account? How should I store my account details?

No email address is required. Create an account with a username and password. Choose a recognizable username that does not contain sensitive information, and store your login details in a trusted password manager. Your account password and subscription link serve different purposes: the password lets you access the dashboard, while the link lets your client retrieve route configurations. Keep both secure. Before changing browsers or devices, make sure you can sign in to the dashboard, then migrate your client. If you have trouble logging in, note the message shown and where the issue occurs, then explain it through the dashboard’s ticket system if you can access it. Do not show your password in screenshots or share your subscription link publicly as if it were an ordinary URL.

How do I update my subscription link? Do I need to import it again if the update fails?

Sign in to the user dashboard and check your subscription status in the account overview. Then find the subscription you already imported in your client and use its update or refresh option. When the route list changes, updating the existing configuration is usually easier to manage than adding it again. If the refresh fails, check that your device is online and that the address saved in your client matches the current one in the dashboard. If the address has changed, replace it with the one shown in the dashboard. Do not edit link parameters or paste the link into a public testing site. After updating, make sure the route list has loaded, then select a route again so you do not keep using a cached entry.

Do I need to pay again when I switch devices? Which platforms can I use at the same time?

There is no limit on the number of devices that can be online at the same time, so changing devices alone does not require another purchase. VPN87 supports Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. Sign in to the dashboard on your new device, use the relevant platform page to get the client and subscription, then import the subscription. Downloading a client and retrieving a subscription are separate steps: you must sign in to the dashboard to get a subscription, and access to the iOS download page depends on eligibility shown there. Keep the working configuration on your old device until you have confirmed the new one connects, then tidy up. Unlimited devices does not mean unlimited data; plan your usage around your plan’s data allowance, especially when streaming or syncing files across multiple devices.

What should I do if I accidentally shared my subscription link?

First, remove any public posts you can take down and stop sharing the link. A subscription link can be used to retrieve route configurations, so do not post it on forums, in shared documents, or in screenshots unless it has been obscured. Then sign in to the dashboard and check whether it offers an option to reset or update the subscription link; follow the options actually available there. If you cannot find one, open a ticket, explain that the link was exposed, and ask how to proceed. Once the link has been changed, replace it in your client and refresh the configuration. Do not keep using the old configuration as your everyday connection. If your account password was exposed too, address those credentials separately. When submitting a ticket, describe how the link was exposed and what you have done; do not paste the full subscription address into the message.

Connections & troubleshooting

Distinguish between local network, configuration import, and target app issues to avoid reinstalling repeatedly. Find the client in the user dashboard.

My client says it’s connected, but websites won’t load. What should I check?

Connected usually means the client has established a connection; it does not guarantee that the website you want is reachable. Disconnect the client temporarily and make sure your local network can open websites that normally work. Reconnect and test other destinations. If nothing loads, check whether the system proxy or the client’s network takeover feature is enabled as required, and make sure no other network tool is changing those settings. If only one website fails, check the routing rules, destination region, and the website’s own status. Then update your subscription and compare another route in the same destination region. Troubleshooting note: Change one setting at a time and record the result. This makes it easier to find the cause than changing your network, rules, and route all at once.

Why does my browser work, but a particular app won’t use the proxy?

A browser and a standalone app may use different network paths. Some apps ignore the system proxy; others may be routed directly by your current rules, while some need the client’s network takeover feature. Fully close and reopen the app first to rule out a session established before the connection was ready. Then check which rules the client applies and whether the app’s domain is using the expected route. If the client offers a relevant takeover mode, enable it according to that client’s instructions and follow any system permission prompts. Do not assume settings have the same names across platforms. If the issue persists, open a ticket with the app name, operating system, current mode, and error message rather than simply saying it does not work.

No routes appear after import, or subscription updates keep failing. What should I do?

First, work out whether you cannot retrieve the subscription address or whether the configuration was retrieved but cannot be parsed. Check your subscription status in the dashboard and copy the address again from the current page. Make sure you have not copied spaces, line breaks, or other text along with it; do not copy a truncated preview from a chat. If the client says the format is unsupported, check that you are importing it as described in the dashboard instead of repeatedly adding the same address. If you see a network error, confirm your local connection is working and try refreshing again. The exact error message can help identify the issue, but obscure your subscription address and account details before taking a screenshot. Do not delete an old configuration that still works. Record the old configuration and the new import issue separately.

When should I open a support ticket, and what troubleshooting details should I include?

Open a ticket through the user dashboard if you still cannot identify the issue after updating your subscription, checking client settings, and trying another route, or if you need help with your account, an order, or a refund. Include your platform, the message shown in the client, the website or app you are trying to use, your selected region and route type, and whether the issue occurs during import, connection, or access. Note whether other websites work and whether the result changes on a different local network; this helps distinguish route issues from device or network issues. Obscure passwords, sensitive payment details, and the full subscription link in screenshots. Add test results to the same ticket and keep the troubleshooting steps in order. This page does not promise a response time; check the dashboard for updates.

Speed & routes

Choose your destination region first, then compare routes in practice. See the technical reference for route details, or the streaming access guide for choosing a route for content libraries.

Streaming buffers at peak times. How can I tell whether it’s my local network or route congestion?

First, check whether buffering happens on just one platform. Pause file syncing, downloads, and other tasks that use your connection, then check that your local Wi-Fi is stable. Keep the platform and content-library region the same while testing another route in that region; this makes the results easier to compare than frequently switching regions. If ordinary websites are also noticeably slow, check your internet connection first. If only one route performs poorly, the route path or peak-time congestion may be the cause. For continuous streaming, compare the available IEPL dedicated, relay, and direct routes listed in the dashboard. Route type can help guide your choice, but it does not guarantee consistent streaming quality at every time of day. Judge by how it performs during actual use.

How do I choose between IEPL, relay, and direct routes? What does coverage mean?

VPN87 offers international routes covering 100+ countries / 210+ routes. See the dashboard for the routes currently available to you. Direct, relay, and IEPL dedicated routes differ mainly in how traffic is routed and how links are organized; their names alone do not tell you which will be faster on your network. For everyday browsing, start with a route in your intended region that connects reliably. For streaming, meetings, or longer sessions, prioritize a stable path and keep an alternative route available. Coverage describes the range of route choices, not guaranteed access to every website from every region. It also does not mean every protocol or route type is available in every region. Check the target service’s requirements, then compare routes in practice.

Why do videos still buffer or downloads stay slow when latency looks low?

Latency measures how long a request takes to travel to a destination and back. Sustained transfers also depend on available bandwidth, packet loss, congestion, and the destination server’s response, so low latency does not guarantee smooth video playback. Compare using the same video or file source, rather than changing test content at the same time. Check whether buffering only starts at higher resolutions and whether your device is syncing other data. Streaming can also be affected by the platform’s content delivery path, your account’s playback permissions, and app cache. Choose routes based on sustained playback and page response, not a single number. If the problem persists on another route in the same region, include the specific scenario and the client’s message in a support ticket.

Should I keep switching regions for streaming and AI tools?

Frequent region switching is not a good default troubleshooting step. Streaming catalogs may depend on your region, account rules, and the platform’s licensing. AI tools may also consider your account region and network environment. A route can change your network exit point, but it cannot replace eligibility requirements for the target service. Check which regions the platform supports, choose a corresponding route, and try to keep the exit region consistent during regular sessions. If you need to switch, end the current playback or task and reopen the app to check the result; refreshing a route name alone does not mean the catalog has changed. If the service shows a region or account restriction, read its message first instead of repeatedly treating an account issue as a route problem.

Billing & refunds

Compare plans using the same billing basis. See the full prices on the pricing page, and review the refund policy and Terms of Service for policy details.

How much do monthly subscriptions and data packs cost, and how should I compare them?

Monthly subscriptions: ¥9.9/month for 60GB, ¥18/month for 250GB, and ¥28/month for 500GB. Data packs: ¥158 for 300GB, ¥358 for 1000GB, and ¥658 for 3000GB. Monthly subscription data resets each month on the date the subscription began. Data packs remain available until used and never expire, so choose based on how often you use the service. Compare plans according to your usage pattern rather than treating different billing models as equivalent periods. Frequent streaming, file syncing, or use across multiple devices can consume more data. Check the pricing page for full prices and billing details, and review the order confirmation in the dashboard before paying.

When does monthly data reset, and what happens if I upgrade partway through a billing cycle?

Monthly subscription data resets each month on the date your subscription began, not necessarily on the first day of the calendar month. To check your remaining data or billing cycle, sign in to the dashboard and review your subscription before planning downloads, streaming, or multi-device use. If you upgrade partway through a cycle, the price difference is calculated based on the remaining days. Check the adjustment shown in the dashboard before upgrading; do not estimate it using a full month’s price difference or assume an upgrade adds bonus data. Data packs work differently: they remain available until used and never expire. If the dashboard does not show what you expected, keep your order details and open a ticket explaining your original plan, what you did, and what the page currently shows. Do not submit another payment to try to fix the issue before it has been checked.

Which payment methods are supported? What if my dashboard status does not change after payment?

Alipay / WeChat Pay / USDT are supported. Start the plan and order process from the user dashboard, and check the selected plan, amount, and payment page instructions before paying. If your subscription status does not change afterward, return to the dashboard and check the original order instead of creating a duplicate. Returning from the payment page and updating your account status may be separate steps, so the page you are on alone does not confirm whether payment is complete. If the original order still looks incorrect, open a ticket with the order reference, selected plan, payment method, and relevant screenshots. Hide payment details that are not needed to verify the issue. Resolution depends on the order record and ticket response; this page does not promise a payment processing time.

How do I request a refund? Can I still request one after troubleshooting a connection issue?

VPN87 offers a 14-day no-questions-asked refund. To request one, sign in to the user dashboard, open a ticket, clearly state that you are requesting a refund, and provide an order reference that can be used to verify it. See the refund policy and Terms of Service for the full eligibility and processing rules. Troubleshooting a connection and requesting a refund are separate matters. Trying to troubleshoot does not mean you have to keep using the service, and do not overlook the policy’s request deadline while waiting for troubleshooting. If you already have a ticket about a connection issue, you can add your refund request and order details there to keep the conversation together. Do not submit your password or full subscription address, and do not estimate the refund amount or processing time yourself. Check the ticket in the dashboard for the outcome.
