VPN87 Setup Guide

Follow the steps from account setup to client connection to import your subscription and verify access.

Create an account and sign in to the dashboard

First, open the account creation page in the VPN87 dashboard and enter a username and password as prompted. No email address is required; create your account with a username and password. Choose a username that’s easy to remember but distinct from your other accounts. Set a unique password and store it securely. Before submitting, check for accidental spaces, especially if you pasted the details from somewhere else.

After creating your account, follow the prompts to open the dashboard. If you land on the sign-in page, use the username and password you just saved. The marketing site is for information; the dashboard is where you manage plans, get subscriptions, and submit support tickets. Their layouts are different. In the dashboard, find the “Account Overview” and “Plans” sections. You’ll use these throughout the setup process; there’s no need to look for a subscription link in the site content.

If your username is already taken, choose another one and try again. If you can’t sign in, check your capitalization and keyboard input settings before trying to create another account. Save your login details in a trusted password manager, and make sure you can sign in again before choosing a plan. If you already have an account, sign in to it instead. Keep your plan and subscription under the same account to make future troubleshooting easier.

Choose a plan and confirm your order

Open the Plans section in the dashboard. First, choose a billing option based on how often you expect to use the service, then compare data allowances. VPN87 monthly plans are ¥9.9 / month for 60GB, ¥18 / month for 250GB, and ¥28 / month for 500GB. Data resets monthly on the day your plan starts. If you regularly stream or stay connected on multiple devices, choose a tier based on your actual usage. There’s no need to pick a plan based only on device count, as simultaneous device connections are unlimited.

If your usage is occasional, consider a data package: ¥158 for 300GB, ¥358 for 1000GB, and ¥658 for 3000GB. Data is deducted as you use it, and the package never expires. Data packages and monthly plans have different billing terms, so comparing prices alone can be misleading. Before choosing, check the plan name, data allowance, and billing terms on the page. See the pricing page for full details. If you upgrade mid-cycle, the price difference is converted into remaining days; refer to the order details in the dashboard for the exact terms.

After choosing a plan, continue to the order review and payment page in the dashboard. Payment options include Alipay, WeChat Pay, and USDT. Follow the payment instructions currently shown on the page. Keep the order page open during payment. Once complete, return to the dashboard and check the order and plan status; a payment app’s confirmation alone doesn’t mean the plan is active. If the status hasn’t updated, reopen the order or account overview to check before placing another order.

VPN87 offers a 14-day no-questions-asked refund. See the refund policy for details and instructions on how to request one. Once you’ve confirmed the plan is active, continue to the next step to get your subscription. If the order and plan statuses don’t match, describe the issue in a dashboard support ticket rather than repeatedly switching clients.

Choose This Plan

Get your subscription from the account overview

After signing in, open the account overview and check your plan status and data balance. Then find the subscription options. A subscription lets your client retrieve route configurations; it isn’t your website password or the name of a particular route. Once imported, the client displays the regions and routes available in the subscription. For first-time setup, getting the current subscription from your account is simpler than entering route details manually.

If the dashboard offers an import option for your client, open the installed client first, then return to the dashboard to start the import. Your browser may ask permission to open an external app. Confirm that it’s the right client before continuing. If the client doesn’t open or the browser doesn’t respond, copy the subscription link instead. Copy the entire link, then choose the option to add a subscription or configuration from a link in the client. Don’t paste it into a username, password, or individual server address field.

Copy the entire link without adding quotation marks, spaces, or line breaks. This guide doesn’t show a real subscription link; you can only get yours from the dashboard after signing in. A subscription link may contain account access credentials, so keep it as private as a password. Don’t post it in public forums or include it in full in support screenshots. If you need to report an import error, the error message and the steps you took are usually enough.

If you haven’t installed a client yet, download one from the dashboard and then return to copy your subscription. You must be signed in to get the link. Don’t look for a working link in someone else’s screenshot or an old guide. If your plan is active but the subscription option isn’t visible in the account overview, sign out and back in to check your account, then report the issue using a dashboard support ticket. Don’t substitute a configuration from an unknown source.

Import into clients on each platform

Download clients from the dashboard download section; this guide doesn’t provide direct download links. Sign in to get the client for Windows, macOS, Android, or Linux. The dashboard checks eligibility for the iOS download. The instructions below focus on VPN87 clients and their built-in subscription and route management features. If you use a compatible third-party client, first make sure it supports the subscription format provided by the dashboard. A matching file extension alone doesn’t guarantee compatibility.

Windows: Import into the subscription or configuration list

Choose the VPN87 client for Windows in the dashboard, install it, and open the app. Find the subscription or configuration settings, then choose an option such as Add, Import, or Import from Link. Paste the subscription link copied from the account overview and save it. If the client asks for a configuration name, choose one that’s easy to recognize. This is just a local label, not your account password.

After saving, update or refresh the list and check that regions and routes appear. If the dashboard can open the client directly, you can also start the import there and confirm the new configuration in the client. Select the configuration you want to use, and leave the default connection mode unchanged for now. Connect only after the route list appears. For your first setup, focus on confirming the import worked rather than changing several network settings at once.

macOS: Save the configuration and approve system permissions

Download the VPN87 client for your version of macOS from the dashboard, open it, and go to subscription or configuration management. Use the option to add a subscription from a link, then save it and refresh the route list. If the client runs in the menu bar, click its menu bar icon to reopen the main window. Importing a configuration doesn’t connect you automatically; select the configuration, choose a route, and enable the connection.

The first time you connect, macOS may ask you to approve network permissions. Check that the prompt refers to the client you just installed, then follow the system instructions. If another network proxy tool is connected, disconnect it before testing this client to avoid multiple tools changing your network settings at once. If you dismiss the permission prompt, check the client for instructions; don’t assume the subscription has stopped working.

Android: Add your subscription and allow the connection request

Choose the VPN87 Android client from the dashboard download section and follow the system prompts to install it. Open the app, go to the configuration or subscription section, and choose the option to add from a link. Paste your subscription, save it, and refresh the list. Some versions may ask you to select a configuration before showing route groups. Once the routes appear, choose your target region and return to the app’s connection screen.

The first time you connect, Android may show a VPN connection request. This is the system permission the app needs to establish a network connection. Confirm that it’s the right app, continue, and then check the connection status in the client. If the connection drops when you switch apps, check whether Android has enabled background or battery restrictions for the client. Follow the system instructions to adjust the relevant permissions; you don’t need to change every battery setting just to connect for the first time.

iOS: Get and import the client based on dashboard eligibility

The dashboard checks plan eligibility for the iOS download. Users with an active, unexpired plan can access the corresponding download option. Select iOS in the dashboard and follow the instructions to get the VPN87 client. If you see an eligibility message, return to the account overview and check your plan status instead of looking for a download elsewhere. Once the client is installed, import the subscription from the same account.

In the client, find the subscription, configuration, or import option, paste the full link, and refresh the list. If the dashboard can open the app for you, follow the prompt to confirm the import. The first time you connect, iOS may ask permission to add a VPN configuration. Follow the system prompt, then return to the client and start the connection. This step is complete once the configuration is saved, routes are visible, and the connection is enabled. Button locations may differ between versions, but the goal is always to import the subscription and select an active configuration.

Connect to a route and verify it works

After importing, choose a region based on the service you want to use, then connect. VPN87 offers 100+ countries / 210+ routes; the latest options appear in the client after you refresh the list. For your first test, stick to one region so you can compare results. For streaming libraries, check your platform account, content region, and playback permissions. Changing route regions doesn’t change your account’s eligibility.

After connecting, check that the client shows a connected status, that there are no system permission prompts to resolve, and that the configuration you just imported is selected. Then use a browser to visit the site you need and test the relevant app. If the site works in your browser but not in an app, check the app’s account and region requirements or its routing settings before assuming the route itself is at fault.

For a useful test, keep the network, destination site, and route the same. Confirm basic access first, then try video playback or another use case. If the app was already open, fully quit and reopen it so it picks up the new connection. Streaming libraries and AI tools have their own regional and account requirements. A route is only one part of the connection, and a successful test once isn’t a guarantee of ongoing access. See streaming access information for details about content libraries.

If something isn’t working, retrace the setup steps: check that your plan is active and your data status is normal, then confirm the subscription is up to date and selected as the current configuration. Finally, check connection permissions and system network settings. If only one route is affected, keep the region the same and try another available route in the list, noting what happens. Avoid changing the client, protocol, and network all at once; otherwise, even if the issue clears up, you won’t know which change helped.

For further help, submit a dashboard support ticket with the platform you’re using, the error shown in the client, your selected region, and the steps you’ve tried. Hide your subscription link and sensitive account details in screenshots. Check the FAQs for common setup questions. For information about protocol choices, route topology, and peak-time congestion, see the technical reference. This guide ends with connection verification. Once access works, keep your current configuration; there’s no need to keep adjusting settings just to finish the guide.

Final check: You can sign in, your plan is active, your subscription is imported, your route is connected, and you’ve tested the app you need. Unlimited devices can connect at the same time. Repeat the import steps for each additional device, and check connection permissions and actual access on each one.
